One of our big camping trips this summer was a visit to the Finger Lakes in Up State New York. Only 3 hours from where we live it was a no brainer to visit. We were shocked at the beauty of this place! We chose a campsite right on the shores of Seneca Lake which is the bigger of the finger lakes. Sampson State Park was a great choice, big, beautiful and relaxing.

We had no idea what to expect since we had not been to this part of New York before. We were pleasantly surprised that it had some of the best local breweries and wineries around, who knew? We visited the town of Watkins Glen and had a wonder around. I had the trusty Mamiya RZ67 Pro ii medium format camera with me and was eager to search for “abandoned” rustic things to photograph. After a nice relaxing coffee we decided to go on a hike in Watkins Glen State Park. It was stunning to say the least, the trial is littered with eroded limestone views, all with small water falls pouring down. We will certainly be coming back for another visit soon!
