Toronto Weekend – Mamiya RZ67 Kodak Ektar 100

We celebrated my wife’s birthday this weekend and decided to stay in Toronto for two nights. We booked the hotel a few months ago and took a chance on the weather. Oh boy was it cold which was in sharp contrast to what it has been lately. I think at night it was -15 with a -20 something windchill. Not the greatest weather for night photography! My wife is currently doing some contest with her fit bit so needs to get her steps in, that’s my excuse to find good photography spots! I really want to work on my themes, specifically shapes and shadows and night photography. Our hotel was pretty close to the famous Gooderham building in Toronto which has been photographed a million times! I wanted to give night photography a shot with this iconic building. I knew a nice pint of beer was waiting in a cosy pub afterwards too! I had my medium format Mamiya RZ67 Pro ii camera and some Kodak Ektar 100 film. Here’s the result of us freezing our butts off all for the sake of some photographs!

“It can be a trap of the photographer to think that his or her best pictures were the ones that were hardest to get.” Timothy Allen
