Quick Pic – Graflex Graphic View 4×5 Large Format Camera

This photograph is the very first picture taken with my first 4×5 view camera. There is so much more process needed when using 4×5 cameras. First of was the actual camera, which is a Graflex Graphic view 4×5. I have bought two lenses already one is an Ilex No3 140mm (5-1/2″) f4.5 and the other is an Optar f/4.7 135mm lens. I had to purchase a custom scanner negative holder for my Epson V500 since it doesn’t do full 4×5 scans. I have to photomerge 2 half scans. I bought a SP-445 developing tank which is capable of holding 4 4×5 negatives and only uses 475ml of developer. There is just a lot more with the process, even exposure is different with 4×5. It really makes me feel like I am producing something though unlike digital. I’m sure as time goes on I will get better and produce nicer photographs. I’ll probably buy some Kodak Ektar 100 color 4×5 film next. This is an abandoned gas station near the highway in southern Ontario.
