Took the recently acquired Graflex Graphic View 4×5 Large Format Camera out for a spin so to speak. This camera is so much harder to use than any other I’ve owned. From Loading 4×5 film into a film holder to focusing and then developing its a huge process. Even the step to focus on the ground glass is pretty difficult. You have to focus and compose your shot without film in and then load the film without moving the camera at all. You”ll need a black cloth because the ground glass is very hard to see especially in bright light. Also the weight and awkwardness of the camera takes some time to be comfortable with. I decided to take the 4×5 large format camera to the abandoned house down by the lift bridge in Burlington Ontario. The only film I’ve used so far is Ilford Delta Pro 100 4×5 sheet film. I’m very pleased with the results of my first shots though! It’s going to take some getting used to.
